Meet the Host

A person in a boat holding a large fish with a pair of pliers, near a riverbank with trees and a cloudy sky in the background.

Born in Brazil and raised between two worlds, John brings a unique blend of Amazonian roots, American professionalism, and genuine hospitality to every expedition. As an entrepreneur, angler, and lifelong outdoorsman, John has dedicated his life to connecting American fishermen with the true Amazon — not the tourist version, but the real, wild, unforgettable Rio Negro.

After years working in logistics and client services in the United States, John returned to his passion: sharing the Amazon he grew up loving. Today, John serves as the U.S.–based partner and host for BlackFish Amazon Adventures, ensuring every guest feels supported, informed, and taken care of from the moment they land in Brazil until they return home with stories of a lifetime.
